Years ago when I was trying to build up my profile I entered a few photography competitions and achieved some modest success.

Since then I have become increasingly uncomfortable with our societies growing obsession with competitive art. For me art is about self expression and the idea of someone judging the worthiness or otherwise of this self expression is completely at odds with the motivation I had in creating it in the first place. I love the natural world and I express this through photography.

That said there is an undeniable human interest in such things and some sort of credibility that is ascribed to such endeavours so I have included this page for those who are interested.
